JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 40-year-old motorcyclist died after striking two SUVs in the 8000 block of Southside Boulevard on Saturday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said a large SUV was headed south on the Southside Boulevard service road followed by a small SUV.

The man on the motorcycle was headed north on the service road. The report said the large SUV made a left turn in front of the bike as it entered the on-ramp for Southside Boulevard.
The motorcycle struck the passenger’s side of the SUV and forced the bike into the oncoming southbound lane where it hit the smaller SUV traveling south on the service road.
According to JSO, a witness said that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed. The man was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.
Both SUV drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with detectives. JSO said there are no indicators of impairment.
This is the 59th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2024 and the 8th involving a motorcyclist.
