PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – On May 1, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will close its doors for nearly a year to undergo some major renovations.
Those who run the venue said they want the upgrades to enhance entertainment in Northeast Florida.
It’s going to cost a little more than $10 million to upgrade the building.
New features will include:
- A second-floor balcony with seating and outdoor terraces on both floors
- There will be stadium-style seating on the first floor
- Wider and flexible seating for comfort
- New projection & audio systems
- Multi-use room for special events and meetings
- Upgrades to concessions and bathrooms
This building was originally built in 1980 and was used for a church. Then, St. Johns County bought it in 2006.
Ponta Vedra Concert Hall had its first show in February 2011.
Over the last 13 years, more than 300,000 people have visited the venue for a show. Nearly 500 different artists have performed there.
This is not the first time the concert hall has gone through enhancements.
Previous upgrades included:
- New lighting
- Updated sound systems
- Outdoor terrace
The new and improved Ponta Vedra Concert Hall is expected to reopen in early 2025.
