Officer fires shot at suspected robbers leaving Brentwood dollar store, Jacksonville police say

JSO says robbery was fourth at a dollar store in the city

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An officer responding to a robbery at a dollar store Wednesday night on North Main Street near 29th Street, just north of Golfair Boulevard fired a shot at the suspects when one of them raised a gun at him, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The bullet hit the suspects’ car. No one was injured.

Police said the four suspected robbers who were leaving the Brentwood store are in custody.

According to JSO, this was the fourth robbery of a dollar store recently. Police said the trend has been for the robbers to hit the dollar store at closing time.

The investigation is ongoing, and Sheriff T.K. Waters is expected to release more information on the string of robberies when detectives learn more.
