JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While searching for First Coast Gems in our area, we came across Florida’s oldest and largest privately-owned farmers market!
The Jacksonville Farmers Market, located approximately one mile west of historic Downtown Jacksonville, is over 85 years old. Established in 1938, this market is open daily and features 100 produce stalls from local small businesses around town. It’s visited by over one million visitors every year!
During my visit, I found an oasis of fruits, vegetables, animals, and so much more.

With the economy in the space it’s in right now, and grocery prices continuing to climb, the Farmers Market has become a place families go for all their shopping needs. It really is a one-stop shop!
“People shop here from chefs to people who just want to cook at home or people that just want to save money based on how the economy is right now,” Greg Tison, Manager of the Jacksonville Farmers Market, said.
The atmosphere is open-air and festive, and you can greet farmers from across the area as they proudly display their fresh produce and food. It’s so popular that on Saturdays, you can hardly move around on the sidewalks.
We encourage everyone to check out the Jacksonville Farmers Market anytime you want high quality for half the price.
The Jacksonville Farmers Market operates Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The market closes early on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Address: 1810 West Beaver Street
