JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three decades after a man was killed, his wife is still searching for answers.
Erskine Gillespie was robbed and killed at a now-closed business on New Kings Road.
Gillespie served in the military.
“I try to think of the good times,” Yvonne Giffen said.
Her husband was killed in 1991 at the Medusa Cement Company.

Giffen said he was there to clean the property before it reopened. He’d only been on the job for a few weeks when he was robbed and killed.
Since then, the mom of three said life hasn’t been easy, and knowing the person responsible for the killing was never caught — haunts her.
“I never sleep. And this has been going on for 30-something years. I just don’t sleep,” Giffen said.
Giffen said she hopes one day to get peace for her husband by finding those responsible for his killing.
“I just want to know before I die who did this terrible act,” Giffen said.
Giffen said all she wants is justice.
