ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman in Alachua County is dead and a 3-month-old infant was hospitalized after striking a large tree off I-75, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Officials said the woman and the infant were traveling in an SUV on I-75 near MM 402 when she drove off the east shoulder of the road.

Investigators said the SUV struck a large tree and overturned.
FHP said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the infant was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
