Police investigate man found shot to death in truck in Lackawanna

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found shot to death in a pickup truck in Lackawanna on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO was called to the 2900 block of Webster Street about a person who was shot.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Police identified the victim as 43-year-old Phillip Leander Bellamy.

Investigators are examining video surveillance and any witnesses to help in the investigation.

Officials said potentially one or two individuals in dark clothing approached the car and shot multiple times, killing the man before fleeing in an unknown direction.

No one else was in the car at the time.

JSO said it does not yet know the circumstances of the incident nor the relationship of the people involved.
