HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office announced it is investigating an attempted murder at Ginnie Springs that happened Saturday night.
According to deputies, around 11:30 p.m., they responded to an attempted murder that happened in the roadway inside the park, between the Devil’s Spring and the Tube Launch.

Ginnie Springs posted on its website and social media accounts that the park is temporarily closed.
Gilchrist County deputies and Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials were on the scene conducting the investigation, trying to identify witnesses and one “outstanding subject that was involved.”
Deputies described the “outstanding subject” as a woman in her early 20s, approximately 5 feet,10 inches to 6 feet tall, fit and muscular with long braids and light-tinted contacts. She was also wearing a green bikini top or a dark multi-colored patterned top and bikini bottoms or shorts, according to deputies.
“She had been staying in this area all day and was last seen walking toward the exit of the park,” deputies wrote.
