JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A 12-year-old was among 15 arrests made by the Jacksonville Beach Police Department (JBPD) over a busy Memorial Day weekend.
One of the incidents police responded to was a potential unpermitted event that was going to take place near the pier at 2 p.m. on Monday.

JBPD said the crowds were closely monitored throughout the afternoon and several small disturbances were handled quickly to stop larger incidents from happening.
Police said attendees began leaving the beach around 7 p.m., but officers watched the remaining crowds in the city.
Officials said around 9 p.m., they received a report of a victim who needed assistance in the 300 block of Third Street North.
The victim was a 16-year-old who was taken to the hospital after suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told police the shooting happened in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue North.
Detectives are following up on leads and there is limited suspect information.
Police then said around 11 p.m., a woman reported that a group of males aggressively displayed a gun to her as she was walking near the pier.
Officers responded and were able to detain the suspects.
A 12-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor.
A 17-year-old co-defendant was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor as well.
