38-year-old truck driver dies after overturning on entrance ramp to First Coast Expressway

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old driver died Saturday afternoon after losing control of his truck as he entered the southbound ramp to First Coast Expressway (State Road 23), according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the driver of a white Mack truck was traveling west on New World Avenue approaching the southbound entrance ramp to First Coast Expressway when he lost control of the vehicle as he began to turn left onto the ramp. This caused the truck to overturn on the ramp, according to FHP.

FHP said the driver, who was from Jacksonville, died at the scene.
