JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Humane Society is asking the community to help name its new kittens throughout June.
According to JHS, its animal shelter takes up to 200 kittens every week during the summer months.

Due to that large influx, JHS came up with a creative campaign that will help get more donations to ensure these new kittens receive the care they need to thrive — while collecting a variety of unique names for them.
“With so many kittens coming in, we truly need the community’s creativity,” said Denise Deisler, JHS CEO. “We’ve been through just about every name in the kitten book, and we’re looking forward to the new and different ones that this campaign will bring in. We hope folks have as much fun suggesting names as we do reading them!”
Community members interested in participating can suggest a name by donating a minimum of $5.
Name suggestions will be accepted from June 1 until June 30. Names must be appropriate, JHS said.
According to JHS, all gifts up to $30,000 will be matched, thanks to a donor. This will provide the organization with the opportunity to raise up to $60,000 in just 30 days.
