JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A now-former member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office sat outside his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and watched “long enough” to see the lights turn off while she had a visitor, according to a text thread included in his arrest warrant.
Ex-officer Allen LeSage was arrested on May 20 and is accused of using the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles database to run 15 license tags for vehicles parked at the apartment complex where his ex-girlfriend lived.

“Accessing data [...] for personal reasons is strictly prohibited,” Sheriff T.K. Waters said. “No one is above the law. When a member of this agency violates the law, we’re going to take action. We’re going to hold them accountable.”
LeSage, who worked for the agency since September 2017, used the database on April 14, according to JSO.

LeSage’s warrant includes a text thread between him and his ex-girlfriend, which reads as follows:
“So I just want to understand this correctly, you sat outside my apartment last night for how long? And you left [him] alone in the house?” the ex-girlfriend said in a text message.
“Honestly yes I made sure he was asleep. And long enough to watch y’all turn off the lights and no one exit. Not proud of it,” LeSage responded in a text.
The arrest report said LeSage declined to answer questions about his unauthorized use of the database.
LeSage is facing a third-degree felony charge of one count of offenses against computer users.
LeSage resigned from his role and no longer works for the sheriff’s office.
He is the ninth JSO staffer arrested this year, and his arrest marks the sixth staffer arrest by JSO.
