JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville federal court will hear arguments in the case for the city ordinance that will prevent dancers under 21 from performing in strip clubs.

The lawsuit, filed in 2022, shows adult club owners contesting the ordinance they claim is unconstitutional and restricts free speech.

The city said it’s part of an effort to prevent human trafficking. The ordinance would make dancers register with the city and receive a work identification card.
No dancer under 21 would be eligible for a card.
The hearing is set for June 8.
