St. Johns County waiving dog adoption fees through end of June due to overcrowding

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The St. Johns County Pet Center announced it will be waiving its adoption fee for dogs starting Friday and through the end of June.

Officials said the center is currently facing overcrowding due to increased pet surrenders and strays, and that’s why they decided to waive the $60 adoption.

Each adopted dog comes with complimentary spaying or neutering and microchipping. In addition, the Pet Center also offers free pet toys and food while supplies last.

“We are committed to finding loving homes for all our dogs,” said Paul Studivant, Animal Control Division Manager. “By waiving adoption fees and providing essential services and supplies, we hope to encourage more adoptions and reduce overcrowding in our facility.”

These are Pet Center’s adoption hours:

Tuesday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Pet Center is located at 130 N. Stratton Road in St. Augustine.
