ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Baptist Health opened a new emergency center for adults and children in St. Augustine Monday morning.
According to a spokesperson, the new Baptist/Wolfson Children’s ER and Imaging Center was built in response to the growing need for emergency care in St. Johns and Flagler counties, which are rapidly expanding.

“With the rapid growth in our region, it’s critical that we’re meeting the rising demand for convenient access to the right care in the right setting,” said Michael A. Mayo, DHA, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Baptist Health.
There are two emergency centers within the facility: a Baptist Emergency Center for adults and a Wolfson Children’s Emergency Center for kids ages 0 to 17.
“Children and adolescents have their own unique health needs, and every square inch of our children’s emergency centers throughout the community are designed with that in mind,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, president of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. “Our pediatric emergency teams are ready to provide specialized lifesaving care when your children need it most.”
The center also has an imaging center to provide the community with X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, mammography and bone density screenings.
The new emergency care facility is located at the junction of Interstate 95 and State Road 16 at 461 Outlet Mall Boulevard.
