TELL US: What do you think about a law requiring qualified women to sign up for a military draft?

Talk of a military draft has created quite a debate on Capitol Hill.

While Senate Democrats are pushing for women to register for the draft, GOP Senators are against it.

The debate stems from Americans’ lack of interest in joining the military, and an effort to bolster recruitment.

The proposals making their way through Congress do not reinstate a draft right away, but are part of discussions as conflicts around the world persist.

The House recently passed a defense policy bill to authorize pay raises for troops and other military spending measures. That bill also included a proposal to make registering for the draft automatic.

A Senate committee approved a version that expanded registration to include women.
