Sea & Sky Air Show won’t take place at Jacksonville Beach in 2025

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Jacksonville Beach will not host the fan-fave Sky and Air Show in 2025, according to Mayor Chris Hoffman.

The air show, which typically happens in October, features the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and other pilots putting on a jaw-dropping flight demonstration for thousands of eager spectators.

“I’m very disappointed to hear that the City of Jacksonville will not be hosting the 2025 Air Show in Jacksonville Beach. This is always a great event and our residents love celebrating our military and enjoying a weekend of performances and patriotic displays. We look forward to working with the City of Jacksonville to resume the event as soon as possible,” Hoffman wrote on her Facebook page.

Last year, the show at Jacksonville Beach was significantly shorter because the civilian acts that would typically perform were not on the lineup due to insurance and liability cost spikes.

According to the Blue Angels 2025 schedule, Jacksonville is not listed as a location for either the beaches or Naval Air Station Jacksonville, which has also hosted Blue Angels shows in the past. NAS Jax is scheduled to host an air show with the squadron Oct. 19-20 this year.

It’s unclear why the event will not return next year. News4JAX has reached out to the city of Jacksonville for a statement.

The squadron will still perform in Florida at four locations in 2025:

  • Key West from March 29-30
  • Lakeland from April 5-6
  • Fort Lauderdale Beach from May 10-11
  • Pensacola Beach on July 12
  • Punta Gorda from Nov. 1-2

The United States Navy Flight Exhibition Team’s first demonstration took place on June 15, 1946, at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, which was also the squadron’s first home base.
