Police investigating death of man found shot after crashing into building on Myrtle Avenue

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died after he crashed his car into a building, and police found him suffering from at least one gunshot wound early Saturday in Historic Durkeeville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said just after midnight, they received reports of a car that had crashed into a building at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and 8th Street West.

When they arrived, they found the man, in his late 30s, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, JSO said.

JFRD transported the man to a local hospital where he died.

Police said they do not have information as to where the shooting happened nor any suspect information. They also don’t know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of those involved.
