GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – A 13-year-old boy was arrested Monday morning after Glynn County police said he led them on a chase and nearly hit two vehicles while driving a stolen car on Georgia Highway 27.
Police said it all began just after 5 a.m. when officers noticed a Toyota Camry traveling on the highway at Cary Street with no front tire on the front passenger side and no license plate attached.

Police signaled the car to stop but it did not, ultimately leading them on a chase.
According to police, during the chase, the car drove in the wrong direction, reached speeds of 65 mph, and nearly hit another car twice.

Eventually, police conducted a PIT maneuver to stop the car. A PIT maneuver involves a police officer maneuvering their cruiser into the rear side of the other vehicle to force it to stop.
The first maneuver attempt was unsuccessful, but the second attempt brought the Camry to a stop at Lois Lane and Old Jesup Road, according to police.
Glynn County police said the 13-year-old boy driving the car was also in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen.
The boy is now facing several charges including fleeing and eluding, theft by receiving, reckless driving, and others.
He was turned over to the custody of Juvenile Justice and transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) in Savannah.
