GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – The Glynn County Board of Education unanimously approved the purchase of 128 vape detectors for Brunswick High School and Glynn Academy in its July meeting.

Officials said the sensors are designed to detect vape smoke, marijuana, and cigarette smoke. They can also detect abnormal sounds like shouting and gunshots.

The board said the total cost, including the installation and licensing amounts to over $174,000.
Officials said the detectors will be strategically placed in the bathrooms of both schools.
