Man who was walking on I-95 following crash dies after being struck by van, tractor-trailer: FHP

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An 84-year-old man who was walking on Interstate 95 after he crashed into a guardrail died early Friday morning when he was struck by two vehicles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the man appeared to have crashed into a guardrail around 3:30 a.m. near Kings Road on I-95 North. After the single-vehicle crash, FHP said the Barefoot Bay man was walking in the travel lane when he was hit by a tractor-trailer and a van carrying seven passengers, including three children.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP said the crash is still under investigation.
