JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department announced the passing of one of its engineers on Tuesday.
Ian M. Church served with JFRD since Feb. 20, 2021, and was recently promoted to Engineer in June. Church passed away suddenly due to a courageous battle with cancer, according to a GoFundMe post.

“We are heartbroken to share that Ian Church, a devoted firefighter and cherished husband and father, has passed away suddenly due to a courageous battle with cancer,” the GoFundMe said. “His unexpected departure leaves behind his loving wife, Brittany, and their three young children, who are now facing an unimaginable loss.
