Residents’ input wanted to update vision plan for the future of St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Time is ticking for the St. Augustine community to help shape the city’s plan for the future.

The City of Augustine and the Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC), the city’s consultant, will host a series of workshops for community members to give their input for “necessary updates” to the city’s 2014 Vision Plan.

The vision plan was adopted 10 years ago and used as a critical reference guide for the 2020 update of the city’s Comprehensive Plan.

The updated adoption will go into effect in January 2025.

The kick-off workshop will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Johns County Main Library on 1960 N Ponce De Leon Boulevard.

The remaining workshops will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. as follows:

  • Monday, Sept. 16 at the St. Augustine Yacht Club on 442 Ocean Vista Avenue
  • Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Willie Galimore Community Center on 399 Riberia Street
  • Wednesday, Oct. 16 at The Waterworks on 184 San Marco Avenue
  • Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Shiloh Baptist Church on 271 W King Street
  • Wednesday, Nov. 13 at The Alcazar Room, city hall, on 75 King Street
