DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – The Duval County Canvassing Board conducted its post-election voting system audit for the 2024 Primary Election on Friday and it found 100% accuracy.

According to the Duval County Supervisor of Elections, the audit is mandatory in Florida and aims to confirm vote-counting equipment and procedures used during an election.

“So far since doing these tests here in Duval County we’ve been 100% on with the hand count vs. the machine count,” said Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland.

The staff conducted a manual audit of the early voting, election day, vote-by-mail and provisional ballots for the primary precinct 802.

The precinct was randomly chosen by Duval County Judge Michael Bateh, a member of the Canvassing Board.

“What’s really important about doing this is one, for people who don’t trust machines, to show and verify that they are accurate,” said Holland. “Also to give confidence after the election, any election, that the machines are accurately reporting and everything was right on.”
