Man, dog severely injured after being attacked by 5 unleashed dogs in Ponte Vedra Beach

SJSO looking for handler of the aggressor dogs

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – A man and his dog were severely injured after being attacked by five unleashed dogs last week in Ponte Vedra Beach, near Turtle Shores, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said on Aug. 23 around 1 p.m., two people were on the beach with their dog when they were approached and attacked by the dogs, which were described as a chihuahua, an American bulldog, and three pit bulls.

SJSO is now looking for the handler, identified as a woman, of the aggressor dogs. There is no further description of the handler.

According to officials, county ordinances require SJSO and/or Animal Control to investigate complaints involving aggressive animals involved in an attack.
