Salt Jax Beach hosts farewell party as bar closes after 13 years

Developers bought the building and plan to turn it into a hotel

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Salt Jax Beach hosted a farewell party as the bar is closing after 13 years on Sunday.

The owners released a statement that reads in part:

“It is with a heavy heart and mixed emotions that we announce the closing of Salt Jax Beach. After 13+ incredible years filled with unforgettable memories, laughter, and countless sunsets, we have decided to close our doors. This decision comes not from failure, but the new owners have plans to develop this beloved spot into a hotel,” officials said.

On Sunday, people were invited to sign a memory wall to celebrate.
