JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bicyclist was killed early Friday morning after he was struck by a car while riding in the Mandarin area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said a man in his late 20s was riding his bicycle around 2 a.m. and when he crossed the street at Hartley Road and San Jose Boulevard he was struck by a car.

After being thrown into the roadway, another car traveling in the path of the accident did not see the man on the road until it was too late. The sedan struck and started to drag the man. The driver stopped as soon as he realized what happened, JSO said.
The bicyclist died at the scene.
Two drivers told JSO the light was green when they were attempting to go through the intersection and they could not see the man.
All three drivers involved stopped at the crash scene and are cooperating with investigators, and there were no signs of driver impairment, JSO said.
The death marked the 99th traffic fatality in Duval County this year according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
