JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A half-mile section of Old St. Augustine Road near San Jose Boulevard was closed Friday morning after another round of rain made the road impassable.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said both directions of Old St. Augustine Road between Pritmore Road and Crown Point Road were closed because of flooding at 4 a.m.
Pritmore is a block south of the San Jose Boulevard-Old St. Augustine Road intersection.
“It was crazy this morning when I seen it,” said Matt who works at the Grease Monkey, a nearby auto shop. “We usually do maybe 15 to 18 cars a day. We’re at three.”
People who News4JAX talked to said it was the worst they had ever seen it there.
As of 2 p.m., that portion of Old St. Augustine Road was still closed, barricades were up and it wasn’t immediately known when the road would reopen.

Crews were in the area to unclog a storm drain.
Residents said the road started to flood around 10 p.m. on Thursday night.
Multiple rounds of rain have hammered the area in the last two days and caused flooding on the road throughout the city.
And more flooding is expected this weekend.
People in the area are worried about more flooding Friday night.
