Man dies in rear-end crash with semi-truck on I-95 in Nassau County

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A man from St. Marys died in a rear-end crash on Interstate 95 in Nassau County Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said around 11:46 p.m., a 35-year-old man was driving a sedan northbound on I-95 in the right travel lane, close to Mile Marker 381. Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man from Texas driving a semi-truck was also traveling in that lane, directly ahead of the sedan.

According to the FHP report, the sedan driver was traveling at a faster speed than the semi-truck and ended up crashing into the back of the semi.

The driver of the sedan died at the scene. According to the FHP report, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
