FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s Cold Case Unit is spotlighting the case of a woman who was murdered 25 years ago in hopes of getting new information that could lead to an arrest.

On Sept. 8, 1999, Dawn Petterson’s body was found on the west side of what is now Squash Blossom Trail at Seminole Woods Boulevard in Palm Coast.

Deputies said she was found with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation linked Petterson’s case with the murder of Andrea Ford in 1997 -- which also remains unsolved.
