Beloved St. Augustine pub announces closure after 32 years

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A popular St. Augustine restaurant is shutting down.

The Kings Head British Pub, located at 6460 U.S. 1, announced on social media it plans to close on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.

“This journey has been one of passion, dedication and countless cherished memories, and we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude,” the post on Facebook said. “To our beloved patrons: Your unwavering support, and loyalty have been the heart of our restaurant. Every visit, every meal shared, and every smile exchanged has meant the world to us.”

Known for its landmark double-decker bus in front of the building, patrons have until 5 p.m. on Sunday to grab one last beer.

“As we close this chapter, we carry with us the joy and fulfillment that comes from serving our community,” the post said. “Though the doors of the Pub will close, the memories and friendships we have built will remain forever in our hearts.”
