The city released the following statement:

We identified IT infrastructure configuration issues that caused the access challenges earlier today. The immediate issues have been resolved. All city websites and apps are back online, and 630-CITY is taking calls from citizens. Our team will continue monitoring the situation throughout the night, and we are looking at ways to ensure increased service redundancy and resilience going into the future.

City of Jacksonville spokesperson

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department had plans in place to ensure the interruptions didn’t affect emergency responses so citizens could still call 911 to report emergencies.

The city said there is no indication of a cyber-attack or security breach.
