Two Clay County parks will undergo improvements and the community is invited to share their ideas

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The community is invited to share ideas on the proposed improvements for two Clay County parks.

The Clay County Board of County Commissioners plans to submit two grant applications to the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program for improvements.

The proposed improvements for Doctors Lake Park are to replace the fishing pier, bulkhead, add a kayak launch and pave the parking lot. The estimated funding request will be for $200,000.

This discussion will begin at 6 p.m. at the Orange Park Library on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The proposed improvements for Moody Avenue Park are to replace the existing playground unit with accessibility for people with disabilities-compliant playground equipment, replace rubber surfacing, and improve the underground drainage system. The estimated funding for this proposal is $200,000.

Commenting will open at 6:30 p.m. for this park on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Orange Park Library.

Another option is to submit comments by email here during the online public comment period which starts on Sept. 12 and closes on Sept. 27 at the end of the business day.
