Nonprofit looking for volunteers to help clean parks for International Coastal Cleanup Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Timucauan Parks Foundation is looking for volunteers to help clean three local parks for International Coastal Cleanup Day on Sept. 21.

Here are the times and locations for volunteers to meet:

  • The visitor’s center at Fort Caroline National Memorial at 12713 Fort Caroline Road from 9-11 a.m.
  • Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park at 500 Wonderwood Drive from 8-10 a.m. Volunteers must tell the gate attendant they’re there for the cleanup event to get free admission to the park.
  • Pavilion by the pier at Reddie Point Preserve at 4499 Yachtsman Way from 8-10 a.m.

Helpers should wear closed-toe shoes, clothes to work in, work gloves, and a reusable water bottle.

TPF will have additional gloves, trash bags, and supplies and will provide water to refill bottles and snacks.

People of all ages are welcome and people under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver. The parent or guardian must accompany children under 16.
