Over $20K raised to make ‘Dreams Come True’ for local children battling life-threatening medical conditions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Once again, Channel 4 is partnered with Dreams Come True to literally make dreams come true for local children battling life-threatening medical conditions.

Dreams Come True is the First Coast’s only locally based dream granting organization dedicated to using the power of a dream to bring hope and joy to children in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia who are going through a difficult and often terrifying time with their illnesses.

Channel 4′s phone lines were open for two hours Monday, Sept. 23 -- from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. -- to take donations to that will go directly towards dream fulfillment. And get this, all the money raised during those two hours online and through the phone bank, will be matched by The PLAYERS!

Phone bank callers raised $10,022 and The PLAYERS matched $10,000 so the total amount was $20,022.

The average cost of a dream is $8,500, and since 1984, the non-profit has fulfilled the dreams of 4,904 children. No eligible child is ever denied a dream or placed on a waiting list.
