Going Ringside Ep. 83: Tony Khan

AEW owner discusses new NFL Films documentary that profiled him, AEW and how his father, Shad, feels about his pro wrestling company

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On this special episode of Going Ringside, we’re joined by All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan, who was profiled just this week by NFL Films. The day-in-the-life documentary detailed what it’s like for the man who lives between two worlds: pro wrestling and pro football.

The documentary, which was featured on FS1, highlighted why Khan went viral at this year’s NFL draft for wearing a neck brace because he had been attacked in the wrestling ring the night before.

In our interview, Khan discusses how his father, Shad, feels about his running a global wrestling company that started in Jacksonville in 2019. His father also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars, where Tony is the team’s Chief Football Strategy Officer.

Khan also shares with us the current status of AEW’s media rights deal. Currently, AEW has a deal with Warner Brothers/Discovery to air their programming on TNT and TBS each week. There has been considerable speculation on what the new deal will entail.

Khan also discusses two huge AEW Dynamite shows in the next two weeks as they celebrate the fifth anniversary of AEW Dynamite.

Khan also brings up stars such as Bryan Danielson, Mariah May, John Moxley and many more.
