Live Wildly Showcase of Sing Out Loud Festival brings in huge economic impact for St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Sunday was the last day of the Live Wildly Showcase for the Sing Out Loud Festival.

This two-day showcase with big-name acts is expected to bring over 25,000 people to the area and have a huge economic impact.

Dianya Markovits, Director of Public Relations for SJC Cultural Events, said from this weekend, they’re expecting more than $4 million to flow into the area.

She said this includes people spending money on accomodations, food and bars.

Markovits estimated attendance is up 26% this year, compared to last year.

“I think it has to do with the days the festival is held,” Markovits said.

This year it’s held on a Saturday and Sunday, as opposed to last year’s, which was on a Friday and Saturday.

Ryan Hall, the Chief Marketing and PR Officer for SJC Cultural Events, said this event was held this weekend because it’s typically the second lowest-visited weekend in St. Augustine in the calendar year.

Some of the big names that performed this weekend included Eric Church, Norah Jones and Noah Kahan.

In addition to listening to music, attendees could go to different vendors’ tents and try different foods.

A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sale for the showcase goes to support conservation efforts in St. Johns County.

Something Mya, a music fan from Port Orange, said she loves.

“I think just the message of the whole festival supporting Florida Wildlife is pretty special,” Mya said.

But her favorite part of the festival was the weather and listening to Sierra Ferrell.
