Police determined there was no threat and parents were sent an updated message.

Hello Englewood High School families, this is Duval County Public Schools. As we texted you earlier, the school did go on a lockdown as a result of information received regarding a rumor of a potential school shooting. School Police and JSO are on the scene. Students are safe, and there is no threat to the school. While there was no threat or any type of violence, something caused some students to panic. Calm has been restored, and students are safe. We are encouraging students to remain at school for the remainder of the school day. While the situation is now calm and there is no threat to the school, we do understand if parents would like to pick up children early. If you would like to do so, authorized adults can pick up students from the auditorium following normal procedures; however, again, there is no requirement to do so. We will continue to keep you informed, but for now we want to emphasize that the school is safe, multiple police are at the school, and there is no active threat. Thank you and we will continue to keep you informed.
