JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The champion is here and the challenger is too. When NXT debuts on CW Network on Oct. 1, all eyes will be on the main event between champion Ethan Page and his challenger Trick Williams.
On this episode, host Scott Johnson sits down with the two men at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
The cocky champ Ethan Page said he feels he will win and retain the title but begrudgingly admitted a troubled history with Williams.
“No, I’m not,” said Page about whether he was looking forward to the match. “We wrestled each other in a singles match and I lost. I’m still the champion. So the goal is to not lose this. And so far, one on one, I’m not very successful.”
However, when pushed, Page said he will keep his title.
“I think the company and the brand and this championship deserve to have somebody with my experience level. My poise. How I handle myself. My professionalism. I am a world-class professional wrestler. World class talker. I don’t think that that’s Trick Williams,” Page said.
Williams unsurprisingly has an opposite take as he looks forward to challenging for the title.
“What better way to represent the whole CW Network than Trick Williams being the champion,” he said.
We will see live at 8 p.m. Oct. 1 on CW.
