Ware County Schools closed at least through Tuesday due to Hurricane Helene

WARE COUNTY, Fla. – Officials announced that all Ware County Schools and the Central Office will remain closed at least through Tuesday, Oct. 1 due to Hurricane Helene.

The district said it will determine when to resume school operations.

Few places had power on Friday as downed powerlines littered the area, and damage could be seen at the fire station headquarters in Waycross, where the fire safety trailer tipped on its side and the shelter that covered it crumpled to the ground.
