JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Motorists traveling northbound on I-95 seeking to access Airport Road will encounter nightly detours for permanent beam replacement at the overpass beginning Friday, according to a release from the Florida Department of Transportation. Westbound Max Leggett Parkway drivers traveling to westbound Airport Road will also be impacted by the closures.
The overpass was damaged by an over-height commercial vehicle on Aug. 27 and requires a beam replacement.

The I-95 northbound ramp to Airport Road will be closed for detours from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5. Additional nightly detours will occur from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Sunday, October 6, and Friday, October 18.

During this time, drivers will be rerouted to Pecan Park Road, where they can re-enter Airport Road via southbound I-95. Detour signs and law enforcement will be in place throughout the repairs.
