Security guard killed after being shot multiple times inside Westside business

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed early Thursday inside a business on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they responded at 2 a.m. to Dragon Arcade which is on Edgewood Avenue North, near West Beaver Street, after getting reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found a man inside a business suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man died at the scene, JSO said.

According to JSO, early investigation shows that two masked and armed individuals entered the business and shot the security guard inside that business.

No arrests have been made. JSO detectives are going through video surveillance footage and other evidence.

Investigators were looking at both the parking lot and the inside of the business.

About a dozen evidence markers scattered the parking lot while a bullet hole was left in the front door of the Dragon Arcade.

Police said they believe the shooting was targeted toward the business or the security guard. But they do not know the circumstances surrounding the incident.

It’s another shooting at an adult arcade in the past several years, and its a place investigators said they have been to before in connection to robberies.
