Police search for hit-and-run driver who critically injured woman in wheelchair on Atlantic Blvd

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a woman in a wheelchair on Atlantic Boulevard in late August.

Police said the crash happened in the early morning hours of Aug. 31 near Acme Street.

According to JSO, the investigation revealed the woman was crossing the road in her wheelchair when she was struck by a black Toyota sedan.

After hitting the pedestrian, the driver left the scene.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
