25-year-old woman, 3-year-old die in wrong-way crash on I-95; 3 other children in same SUV critically hurt

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 25-year-old Jacksonville woman and a 3-year-old girl died early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95, according to FHP.

A 5-year-old girl a 2-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy also riding in the SUV were seriously hurt.

According to FHP, the woman was driving southbound on Interstate 95 North on the inside lane near Pecan Park Road around 2:20 a.m. when she collided head-on with a car being driven northbound by a 42-year-old man.

According to the FHP report, none of the children in the SUV were wearing seatbelts and neither was the driver.

The Jacksonville man driving the car was wearing a seatbelt and was seriously injured.

No other information was immediately available.

All northbound lanes on I-95 were shut down following the crash but have since reopened.
