Here’s how to report a JEA outage in your area

JEA urges customers to prepare for extended outages in aftermath of Hurricane Milton

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JEA is working to get more line crews out in the Jacksonville area.

As we prepare to feel the impacts of Hurricane Milton, JEA customers should be sure to save this number.

If you have an outage, call (904) 665-6000 or report your power outage online. If you’ve already registered for JEA alerts, you can also text “OUT” to MyJEA (69532).

JEA has a three-step restoration process to get the power back on as quickly and safely as possible.

Phase 1 is public safety—getting power back to hospitals, shelters, police and fire stations and making repairs to the electric grid.

Phase 2 involves restoring powers for individual customers.

Phase 3 is targeting the few isolated outages left.

Before the storm, JEA encourages residential and commercial customers to visit jea.com/storm to ensure their contact information is up to date and to register for power restoration alerts. Emergency personnel recommend stocking up enough nonperishable food and water – at least one gallon per person. Don’t forget to stock up for pets, too.

Customers also can prepare by:

  • Ensuring supply kits are stocked.
  • Reviewing family or business emergency plans.
  • Bringing loose outdoor items indoors.
  • Ensuring trees are trimmed near your home or business.
  • Charging cell phones and mobile chargers.
