Oktoberfest at Jacksonville Beach can go as scheduled since the storm didn’t hit as badly as expected.
Jason Vaughn traveled from Birmingham for work. He’s happy he gets to experience it.
“I was a little disappointed in the hurricane, I was hoping it would be more exciting than it was but I am glad it didn’t cancel this or postpone this,” Vaughn said.
Miles Enstrom said he was feeling the storm fatigue from multiple hurricanes and bad weather over the last few months. He said Oktoberfest was much needed.
“I think it’s a great place for people to come and relax especially after all the panic people were having wondering if we were going to get destroyed down here,” Enstrom said. “But it’s a fantastic day. No one could ask for any better weather so we all needed this.”
Rob Lombardo is from Jacksonville Beach and said Oktoberfest came at a perfect time.
“I mean this is what everyone needs right now. They need to get out of the house and come outside. It’s a beautiful day,” Lombardo said. “The hurricane actually cooled the weather off a little bit so everyone is out here ready to have a good time and get outside and dance a little bit and drink some good beer.”
Oktoberfest continues Saturday, Oct. 12 from noon to 10 pm.
