FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – On Monday, Flagler County’s Emergency Management team will distribute resources like ready-to-eat meals, clean water, resource boxes, and protective tarps for those who need assistance following Hurricane Milton.

The distribution site will be set up near a Red Roof Inn at 245 County Road 305 in Bunnell until all resources have been handed out, or until 5 p.m.

Trash

Flagler County said it has tentatively coordinated post-debris pickup for disposal beginning Monday, Oct. 21.

“WastePro plans to resume commercial and roll-off pickup on Monday, Oct. 14, and residents may utilize this for early debris removal as well,” the county said. “Please ensure that household garbage is adequately separated from debris, and avoid blocking ditches and swales to prevent flooding and support stormwater drainage.”

Water

As of 10 a.m. on Monday, Flagler County residents have been asked to practice water conservation habits and limit its usage to essential functions such as handwashing, drinking, and sparingly flushing toilets.

Non-essential water usage includes activities like car washing, running the dishwasher, or operating laundry machines.

“This is because the stormwater drainage and sewer/wastewater treatment systems are overwhelmed with high volumes of rainfall in a short period of time,” Flagler County said “[Limiting usage] allows the system to recover and return to functional levels.”

The Hidden Trails Community Center water system is on a boil-water notice and is expected to remain under it until at least Tuesday.
