JSO, JFRD to honor JSO corrections officer with procession through city streets

The public is invited to pay their respects as well

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, and other partners will pay their respects to the JSO corrections officer who was killed at a truck stop with a procession through city streets on Monday morning.

The body of Officer Bradley McNew will be transferred from the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Officer on Monday at 10 a.m. to the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.

The procession will pass by UF Health Hospital and travel through the Springfield and Riverside neighborhoods.

The route will be as follows:

  • Jefferson Street to 11th Street
  • 11th Street to Boulevard Street
  • Boulevard Street to 8th Street
  • 8th Street back to Jefferson Street
  • Jefferson Street, which continues as Riverside Avenue towards Edison Avenue

The public is invited to pay their respects. Please line up along the designated areas of the roadway indicated in the maps below. Do not block the travel lanes, stand on the sidewalk, and listen to emergency officials.
