ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Some Orange Park residents have been finding green Waste Management tags on debris piles waiting to be picked up outside their homes.
“It’ll be great if they take it away because this will get worse,” Marco Sevilla said.
Marco Sevilla lives in a neighborhood on Reed Street. He left a debris pile on the curb for it to be picked up, but came across a green tag.
“Saying they’re not going to take it because it’s too long,” he said.
News4JAX spoke with a Waste Management spokesperson and Orange Park Town Manager Sarah Campbell about those tags.
Waste Management said the green tag means it does not fit the qualification for it to be taken.
But officials assured that debris will be picked up.
Campbell said the piles of debris with green tags will be taken in by Public Works.
On Thursday, News4JAX strolled around neighborhoods that connect to Park Avenue and observed multiple piles of debris — some of them with green tags.
“You can’t really tell when they’re going to pick it up or not. It could take a month. It can take two months. You never know,” Sevilla said.

News4JAX did not get a definitive timeline on when the debris will be picked up, but Campbell assured it will be.
Sevilla said he hopes it’s sooner rather than later.
“They start deteriorating. Everything started breaking to pick it up. It’s just more. It’s more of a mess. Rain comes in, you know? It makes the branches get weaker,” he said.
