BUNNELL, Fla. – Nearly two weeks after Hurricane Milton came barreling across the state, Bunnell city officials have lifted the call for residents to conserve water.
Residents and businesses in Bunnell and the city of Palm Coast were asked to conserve water as Milton approached because heavy rainfall before the storm had already stressed the stormwater systems.

The city urged continued water conservation after Milton until the intense flooding could subside.
Residents can now return to normal water use, Bunnell city officials said.
Residents had been asked to avoid doing laundry, limit showers, not run the dishwasher and to only flush toilets when necessary.
“The City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is permitted for a capacity of 600,000 gallons per day…With the wet weather we have received in October, we have been running at 1.1 million – 1.5 million gallons per day,” said a statement from the city of Bunnell.
The city of Bunnell applauded residents' efforts and thanked them for helping to keep water out of their drains and stormwater systems.
Home and business owners have the all-clear to use water at their normal rate once again.
